@foolishowl Thanks for advancing your proposal on the Fedi Pact. There is just a little ambiguity in it that makes me concerned about treating it as binding:

- There is no "block" option, which our bylaws expects to be available
- In Loomio it is classified as a "sense check" rather than a proposal

I'd have preferred it to be a sense check. I wasn't sure of the proper way to bring up the topic for discussion.

Oh, okay, so you didn't intend it to be a binding proposal?
in reply to Nathan Schneider

It does seem like lots of people would want to see more discussion anyway. Maybe clearly mark it as provisional?
in reply to FoolishOwl

I made some changes and an explanatory statement. I hope that helps.

Thanks! Glad you're doing this, and please let me know if I can support you in participating in #SocialCoop governance.

What do you think is the best next step? Reformulate the proposal to address the concerns raised here?

in reply to Nathan Schneider

It seems to me like people might be more comfortable with a bit more detail, like:

- don't preemptively sign but set clear thresholds for what we won't tolerate
- preemptively sign but commit to revisiting after Threads deploys

One thing you could do next, also, is create a ranked choice proposal with several options that people can choose among.

I love your Outcome statement on Loomio. And I love the idea of an assembly of instances. Let me know if I can support that.
