Caquetá Titi Monkeys are monogamous and make a distinctive purrs like kittens. Discovered only in 2010 they’re now critically endangered from massive #deforestation in #Colombia for #palmoil and #timber #Boycottpalmoil #Boycott4Wildlife https://palmoildetectives.com/2021/02/19/caqueta-titi-monkey-plecturocebus-caquetensis/ via

They were discovered on the property of a (petroleum) oil company, Pacific Rubiales, which promised scientists that it would fund research. But to my knowledge it never got around to funding anything, and soon enough Pacific went bankrupt.

My blog about the tits from 2010: https://settysoutham.wordpress.com/2010/08/13/pacific-rubiales-talisman-get-the-cute-fuzzy-monkey/

ALSO, writing this post allowed me to learn that the whole blog has been deindexed at Google.

This is bad.

Palm Oil Detectives reshared this.

@guacamayan Thank you Steven for reaching out and sharing this story. You do amazing work and I'm glad to meet you 💚 It's really horrible to hear you were deindexed by Google, shocking and a disgrace that this kind of essential information is not getting out there. I am following you now on there, great to connect.

@guacamayan Steven if you would be willing to I can help to get your stories to people in my movement, they are animal rights people and there's a lot of cross-over with people in XR and campaigning against gold mining and oil in South America - your stories deserve to be told over and over again if you have any you would like me to republish onto my website I would be happy to. Also if you have a story to tell about their attempted silencing of your journalism that could be shared as well!
