What a great timing! I've just finished a demo of a basic #LoRa chat app between my Pinephone an my computer (using the USB adapter)!

Demo of the PineDio LoRa modules (Pinphone back cover and USB adapter) : very basic chat application between a PC (via the USB adapter), a Pinephone (via the LoRa back cover) and a Pycom Lopy board (ESP32 + LoRa + MicroPython dev board).

I'm not sure if such a thing has been considered, but in worst case it should be fairly trivial for someone to design their own: just need a new backplate with room for a second/bigger battery and a management board to connect to the pogo pins.
