Tuna Sold at Trader Joe’s, Costco, Walmart, and More Recalled Over Botulism Risk

Tri-Union Seafoods is recalling canned tuna sold under the Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s brand labels. The recall was initiated after Tri-Union Seafoods was notified by its supplier that the cans’ “easy open” pull tab lids have a manufacturing defect that may affect the products’ seal and possibly contaminate the tuna with clostridium botulinum (commonly referred to as botulism), a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.

Yikes! Glad we don't buy anything from those brands! (also, we're old fashioned in what kind of cans we use - you need a can opener...for the baked beans to fish)
