Such a cool constellation. Many things in the Isthmus of Madison, WI, are roughly aligned with where it sets in the morning. In Chile, they call them ‘las tres Marias’.

Saw this on Wikimedia Commons, then ran into it in real life at Chicago museum with my dad. Not a fan of religious dogma, but I like how these illustrations turned Orion from a fierce hunter into a carpenter and a father with an olive branch.

woah! It's occluded by an asteroid? It's strange to think the asteroid could hide it but not itself be bright enough for us to see.
