Web Environment Integrity Being Protoyped In Chrome! #Linux #YouTube https://youtu.be/-6r6GhwD4iQ
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I’d hope brave, vivaldi, firefox, … would never implement it, but when, for example, youtube requires it, they’ll cave sadly
in reply to Eduardo Farinati

@skylab That's why it can't really be solved at the browser level unless Google caves, possibly if Safari says no this won't happen but nothing Firefox, Brave or Vivaldi do will help if this actually gets implemented
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@skylab Firefox, Brave and Vivaldi already said they won't implement it.
The ball is in Apple's court, their decision *may* be the final blow.
But of course, even if this API gets accepted, websites have to use them, and I dont think any sane one developer will.

I’ve been helping my friends/family switch to Firefox at the bare minimum, if not de-Google completely.

I think a drop in Chrome usage & losing users is the only thing that will get them to listen and walk this back.

I think we all have at least one thing we miss in the Google Graveyard🪦
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I don't have much hope in the UK gov doing anything about it (though I've submitted an antitrust report anyway) so I'm banking on the EU being the ones to do something about it.
