@mmu_man It's also a problem for the corporate Unix systems but this is the way the project is going eventually the other Unix's will have to catch up or maintain the code themselves

imo this probably won't happen any time soon, and if it does there will be a lot of frustration from the community.

The reason is simple: Wayland, at least as of writing this, is a buggy disaster. I've used GNOME + Wayland on multiple computers before, even running different distributions, and it has always been a buggy mess.
