GNU Sent Cease & Desist To Libreboot Developer #Linux #YouTube https://youtu.be/vMolA5H39IE
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I mean I'm not sure the FSF wants anyone to take them seriously anymore. Given what they stand for, giving a cease and desist order without any communication to a FOSS project seems very hypocritical.
in reply to Random Tux User :fedora:

@enthusiast101 Its important to note this is not the FSF, but 2 random developers.
I feel sad that this 2 specimens code under the GNU banner if anything
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@enthusiast101 They did not. These 2 developers acted out of their own volition under their own motives. Being part of an organization does not mean they approve automatically of what you do and that all your actions are automatically fine by them, if that worked like that, I wonder what that says of Linux with Reiser...
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Weren't GNU and FSF losing relevance fast enough already?
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Isn't this video a little bit biased because you have spoken to Leah but didn't contact GNUtoo to listen to his side of the story?
in reply to SuperDicq

@SuperDicq I've spoken to neox since and he doesn't disagree with any major points only with the framing and that I didn't include why they wanted to make GNU Boot
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I really hope all the people who name their software to start with "yet another" / "ya..." will start cease and desist letters to each other and they will start giving their stuff real names.
in reply to Brodie Robertson

This is such a dumb thing to be hostile over... It was trivially simple to just say "Libreboot is good, but we wanna know how far we can push the libre-only ideal and help them 100% embody the name", but no, had to make it salty.
