Could Fedora Workstation Go KDE Plasma!?! #Linux #YouTube https://youtu.be/isChogqh_lE
in reply to Brodie Robertson

KDE is unnecessarily hidden away, and the atomic desktops are even more.

The numbers are actually pretty shocking but it makes sense, the hidden options are used by enthusiasts, and those are the people spending time on strange federated platforms, talking about "Desktops".

Like really? Desktops? The stuff you open, launch a program, read some mails and then go home?

Linux is a weird hobby.

But anyways, KDE for the win!

always good to see KDE Plasma getting more attention and/or support!

Fortunately, KDE themes would be stripped access to your home directory before that? 🙂 Maintainers are quick on the uptake, and I would love to see what Plasma 6 has brought.

I'd expect the Plasma workspace to be at on top of GNOME in the long run.

That said, I'm not a fan of this idea, because Fedora would change a lot. Adding another option would mean creating questions. "Whats the best one?" for new users. It would create more testing. Let alone that I think Plasma is a horrible desktop >>for people that just want to have a working system<< (absolutely not in general) because of the "settings-ocean" with no clear design language.
