I agree that a screensaver wouldn't have much point today. Though I'm surprised KDE is not implementing one, since there already functionality that locks a computer upon sleeping, this shouldn't be too hard to do.

That said, I'm sure someone already made a screensaver extension/plasmoid that already does this for those who really want it.

@enthusiast101 In most cases, yes.

However, I'd like to use my @fedora @kde desktop as a remote music player and my speakers go through my monitor. So a screensaver would let me keep playing music through it while having something nice on-screen to keep burn-in away...

@Conan_Kudo @enthusiast101 You're the second person I've seen mention this setup, I don't particular care about it but that sounds like something worth at least discussing in the issue tracker

technically you can have something similar to a screensaver on Plasma by installing an animated background or shader from the KDE Store and setting it as your lockscreen background. I did this once and it worked pretty well.
