Youngest child: “Is there a different page for the girl presidents?”

Me: “Hopefully they’ll be all over the next one.”

Puts me in mind of an exchange I had just last night with my almost 4 y/o daughter:

Daddy, do you know what my shirt says?

Yes, it says 'Girls can do anything'

Yeah! I can do ANYTHING!

(pause)

You can do anything too, Daddy.

This old faaht hopes he’s around to see your daughter and her contemporaries assume leadership of our jalopy democracy. They’re going to do such a better job.

I remember saying to Child # 1 "You are living in amazing times. You had the first black president and now you're going to have the first woman president next. It's amazing..."

Unfortunately things didn't work out that way---- they got madness, uncontrolled pandemic, corruption and more madness.

the last one on the list doesn't count. That was a dark moment in your Countries history.

I was just talking about 1 possible path.
Congresswoman Abigale Spamberger, is being whispered as a possible 2025 VA Governor candidate. Which would put her in the perfect position to either run for President in 2028, or replace Tim Kaine or Mark Warner in the Senate, setting up a 2032 or 2034 run at the Whitehouse.

I know Abigale, I met her back when she was just running for nomination and up against a Rightwinger in a Red District which she flipped.

I think she could pull it off.

Deeply saddened that your constitution elected a man in 2016 regardless of the fact a much better qualified woman got 2.8 million more popular votes than him.

Brings to mind a question from a very young child who for his entire life had only every known and saw Barack Obama as President of the United States.

The young one sincerely, innocently, asked his parent,

"Will there ever be a white President?"

As a Canadian it is not my homework to create a visual answer,

Yet,

My sincere curiosity wants to create a two-page spread of Female Cabinet Secretaries, Female House Speaker, and Female Vice-President, who briefly was also Acting President.

in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

we have seen Disabled Presidents, Black Presidents, Catholic Presidents, and even Women Vice Presidents, a Woman President is Very Likely

I keep saying that we've given old white guys more than a chance. Time to change things up.

USA: just keeping that mysoignist governance alive ! ...Next time someone tells you sexism doesn't exist just show them this hahaha

hope when you folks start getting females leaders, you get better ones than us in the UK. Maggy, May and Truss, were all terrible. Probably because they were Conseratives. We are yet to have a Jacinda Ardern either.
