Hmm, is this the same GitCoin that's partnering with an oil company to solve climate change? https://hachyderm.io/@molly0xfff/110889945522779422

Not a good look, folks. Also if you count Tor as web3, you can count me out as a supporter.

in reply to The Tor Project

Hmm. Can't say I can recommend supporting your project in good faith as long as this is a thing.
in reply to The Tor Project

what is happening? Who is matching what donation to whom? also: 300k in shitcoins???
in reply to The Tor Project

Surely you can raise funds without having to shill "web3" or cryptocurrencies?

I'm embarrassed for you, honestly.

in reply to The Tor Project

I now have much less trust in TOR than I did only a minute ago. 🚩🚩🚩
in reply to The Tor Project

I know you always need more funding and support, but this is not the way.

Associating with ponzi-grifters just delegitimizes your project. And makes me want to stop running my TOR nodes.

Rethink this. You’re better than that.

in reply to The Tor Project

Oh dear, #Enshitification also arrived here. @web3isgreat is going to have a blast over this one.

Whoever had this idea: You've done goofed. Please leave.

in reply to The Tor Project

Looks like that the fundraising team had no idea about web3 and why Tor shouldn't partner up with them :blobcatthink: :blobcatdizzy:

Checked the privacy pratices first, before dealing with partners... otherwise you will become like Firefox and Brave, both going in a wrong direction, related to partnerships.

#Tor falling for #Web3 and #crypto ?

This is disappointing, folks. I expected better.

in reply to The Tor Project

Would you please stop this shit, like, hm, now? I am quite unhappy on donating relay bandwith to a project partnering with scammers.
in reply to The Tor Project

I look at my calendar, and ask myself. 1th April, right?
in reply to The Tor Project

I'm really disappointed. You are something akin to critical infrastructure in civic/privacy tech. That comes with responsibility to not engage with garbage like this, even if it's at the expense of funding that is available to you.
in reply to The Tor Project

Seriously? This is a shit look. Do better. What, it's hard to fundraise and hire good fundraising staff? Possibly next time don't let the rapists harass your best fundraisers out of the organization.
in reply to The Tor Project

There's people depending on you doing a good job. A good job for you should mean to be trustworthy, ethical and consistent.

Now you come with some #web3-#blockchain stuff which is widely known to have very different objectives.

I hope you realize that you smash your own credibility and trustworthiness. The most important thing you had.

And sincerely I hope you can undo the damage. Building trust is hard work, destroying it takes seconds.

Good luck.

in reply to The Tor Project

Congratulations. Right out of the 'How to ruin your reputation in just one move' handbook.
in reply to The Tor Project

as someone who has had tor on the radar as a casual user and thinking of wanting to support. This is a black mark that I can't really ignore.
in reply to The Tor Project

This fucking sucks. Why would you get involved with garbage scamcoin shit?
in reply to The Tor Project

WTF ??????
NO 𝑵𝑶 𝓝𝓞 𝙉𝙊 ℕ𝕆 𝙽𝙾 NO

web3. where your crypto wallet is always open and the meter is always running.

in reply to The Tor Project

How to destroy your whole credibility in a secund... 😞
in reply to The Tor Project

money is money, but Web3 is a scam and they’re laundering your reputation!
in reply to The Tor Project

do you accept #Monero :monero: instead?

If so xan you please put the wallet # on your donations website and here?

in reply to The Tor Project

outstandingly disappointing to be promoting such 💩. Is this worth smearing Tor's reputation? I don't think so...
in reply to The Tor Project

Glad I took the hint and removed my exit node from the Top-3 in 2016 after taking luck’s hint.

I too wish the project all the best, but honesly… smh. Farewell!

in reply to The Tor Project

web3/crypto is an extremely untrusted space for very thoroughly proven reasons, and you are dealing massive damage to public trust in your project by associating with it.
