I'm a solid MEH.

It's NOT a terrible init system at all.

Having all of userspace under a single banner run by some arrogant microsnot employee?
Count me out.

Also, repeat after me: Millions of lines of unaudited code. Running the entire internet.
Yay.

But yeah, I use it. Again, not a bad init system, TBH, I just don't like the tacit aspirations of world-userspace-domination.

Apparently I use it. My computer runs fine.

I guess I don't care either way.

its there it works anything beyond a mild emotional response to it seems excessive

With the advent of containers I think the discussion becomes irrelevant. Just install Kubernetes and handle your services as pods

I don't use it and I am glad I don't have to. I prefer simple software.

I recently stopped using it...

Currently using Void Linux and I am very happy.

I really have nothing against anyone using it but my reason is that I don't want GNU/Linux to become systemd/Linux.

I neither love nor hate it. If a distro I use has systemd, good. If another distro uses another init system and that works well, also good.

I'll put it this way... I'd sooner write a simple systemd service file than an init script any day of the week. I'm just not that big on bash scripting.

While it is occasionally useful, it adds levels of complexity that are more irritating than helpful.

Love it, fast boot, inspectable services/timer, auto managed networks, and more. All of this provides a consistent workflow and less dependencies (less package installed in system).

My knowledge about how to manage system/services in one distro is shareable to other distro that use systemd.

don't have a strong opinion on it. I use it, it works. I tend towards liking it

systemd is a big pile of solutions to problems I didn't have. I use it only because Debian has compelled me to, but I'd rather not TBH.
