thank you 🖤 I'd love to hear more detail about its mechanics. does it only speak of the now? why is it a ribbon? does it begin or end somewhere or is it a loop (as only segments have been shown)? if it's not a loop, would it matter if the story I gaze upon is at the head or tail?

I might expand on the character a bit, but it's a kind of cross-cut "lifeform" that exists in all the competing timelines, but there's no overlapping Paradichlorisse, it doesn't fork like normal matter does, it's a bit like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-electron_universe

did you read about this and it inspired the idea or did the idea come to you independently and you found this later?
in reply to Odo Tournesol

I found about it later. I didn't have as clear an idea at first. Originally, I just wanted the character to be an Actor, the moment you start thinking about a lifeforms with freewill, you end up breaking lots of stuff.. So it ends up looking like a single-electron ribbon thing from the perspective of the people within

the creativity you have is wild to me. Strange and feels unknowable like the ideas itself.

I feel that way with a bunch of creative people. I want to understand but seeking understanding itself causes it to break down

in reply to Odo Tournesol

nothing is that new, but it's like, you'd have to read the things I read, watch the same things, everything I make is a kind of mishmash of stuff I like. The whole Neauismetica is a big blend of all things I like, literally.

But for sure, not knowing where all these wild ideas come from makes it seem deeper and probably more original than it actually is

That itself requires something very precious. The capacity to engage, notice, delight, and play
in reply to Odo Tournesol

@dualhammers yeah, and that's the easiest thing in the world to extinguish. (apologies, I've just finished Lockhart's A Mathematician's Lament)

no need to apologize. I completely agree. Rekindling it feels like a Sisyphean task at times

I wonder if there is some truth to the idea that certain people are less weighed down by determinism. Perhaps some can shift their becoming more than others? If so, I wonder why.
in reply to Odo Tournesol

I don't think so. Everyone is made of the same bits and pieces, some people might have wasted more time thinking about the inevitability of things, but everyone is being sucked down the same drainhole at the same speed I believe, even if our neurons might be quantum entangled.
