Zed is a Linux text editor that has potential given all the bold features. But Zed has not been released as stable software yet.

ehhh... , it is very quick thanks to rust and using GPU,
but other then that, I don't like it.

Tried it multiple times on MacOS and Linux, I just don't see the point in using it over VSCode or Helix. It does not bring something new to the table, VSCode has more and better extensions and with Helix I can super fast move and edit my files. GPU acceleration in a Text editor is just not as important as they want you to believe.

But zed could remain the ZFS Event Daemon on my hosts.

I guess the devs didn't have the foresight to check to see if the name was already in use.

I am really excited about Zed. The one feature I miss is the ability to open multiple project directories in one workspace like it is realized in VS Code. But, overall, Zed is great .
