what I like is that it's debian based

What I haaaaaate is that they're going to start using sudo-rs instead of actually being legit programmers who know what the fuck they're doing.......

Scripting languages have NO PLACE IN OPERATING SYSTEMS BECAUSE THEIR SECURITY CAN'T BE GUARANTEED VERSUS COMPILED PROGRAMS

As a new Linux user, i like the look and ease of use of ZorinOS.

If i could change it, I'd give it a wide start menu.

In Arch Linux, I love : performances, optimization for gaming, frequent updates, compatibility.

But I hate:difficulties to print, capricious pacman.

there is nothing to fix on Bluefin, it works so well it is boring.

not sure if we're allowed to comment on this - but building the #stratos #linux distribution is more fun than we'd like to admit (CC @zstg @magitian @Slipstream8125).

It's involved, but the learning experience is equal parts fun and challenging (in a good way).

Pros: the learning experience and TOTAL customization ability
Cons: can get cumbersome to maintain multiple ISO trees ( @zstg's NixOS edition could solve this rather conveniently)

Fedora just works so well out of the box. If I had to choose something I didn’t like, I’d say it’s how frequently it requires a reboot to install updates. Seems like it’s everyday at this point….

@ksaj You could try something like Mission Center, it might be a better fit.

I love everything except: Installing nvidia drivers can be confusing at times as they keep on changing package names. Next time I setup a new system with nv drivers I have to look up the wiki again to get the right package names ... There was an open proposal to ease up the process and that one is closed as "Resolved" and will come with the next nvidia driver update. Fingers crossed I guess 👀

Inconsistent experience across different HW. Basically, bugs of Linux drivers probably. So not the distro's fault.

Nixos works very well, but sometimes it starts a bit slowly

EndeavorOS is perfect I'm everyway but when I run neofetch it outputs an amorphous blob that reveals to others that I'm an Arch imposter.

Firefox in Flatpak on LinuxMint. Once in a while it just shits itself and bogs the machine for 5 or 10 minutes. Firefox is already a memory hog, Flatpak adds resource hogging, apparently especially when multiple instances of the app are running, and LinuxMint is cool and all, but Cinnamon seems particularly fragile in certain situations (which I have not had time to investigate). I'm not sure if the problem is one, two, or all three of the elements involved, but it's a pain in the ass.

too many packet managers, samba driver for my NAS, not found good enough alternatives for paint.net and notepad++, those are at the top of my head.

Installing linux in general drives me nuts!

I love that my distro provides sooooo many apps and tools for media content creation "out of the box".

As it is Ubuntu-based (you can safely guess what my distro is by now lol), I hate that AppImages don't work "out of the box".

(It says I already have libfuse2t64 installed.)
