Valve doesn't need much to make a Steam Deck 2 a huge success - or do they? https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/03/valve-doesnt-need-much-to-make-a-steam-deck-2-a-huge-success/ #SteamDeck

My ยขยข: either go with uhs-ii, or even CFast (so to get rid of the SD licensing). Xqd is out of the picture, as only Sony makes them and I imagine the royalties would be quite steep

I did expect PC gamer crowd to ask for better specs but I thought you'd be wiser.

We'd appreciate a revision: better battery (+$30, +30g), better screen (+$50) - no problem, sure. Is it essential to be successful? meh

But to launch brand new version (new CPU) a year after release! oh man, how do devs would be able to take #SteamDeck seriously after this move?

I bet games would run better after a year if Valve DOESN'T upgrade APU! since devs would be able to target it better

valve need to sale steam deck in stores very most part, if valve want it bigger then it is

i don't think they need a higher res screen. Take a look at the so called "Deck killers". The battery life on those is terrible, far worse than the already low Steam Deck. Why? Mostly because they have really high res screens.

hmm I think I'd be more interested in a new steam controller(two) too, the steam decks used as a console here, and I use the steam controller as often as the Steam Deck controls themselves. But since valve doesn't officially sell any controllers anymore, that seems like a smart move. Pretty sure it'd sell now, more so than their first attempt ๐Ÿ˜€

1080p screen, smaller bezels. Faster SOC, of course higher resolution can use FSR for acceleration, so the battery use wouldn't be too bad.

The case could be better, I get some creaking sounds from the triggers and shoulder buttons so the plastic is clearly not very durable.

More ports and bigger storage. Honestly, the SD card works pretty well, too.

Release it at a slightly higher price and discount the old Deck. Keep selling both for different customer segments.
