I'm seeing more #PlantScience journals joining Mastodon, so I started a list. Not completely sure how lists work here (sorry #newbie) but please help me add journals to this list! https://scholar.social/lists/636 @PlantTeaching

I believe lists are just for you to interact with. Others cannot see them or contribute.

Perhaps you could make a list of journals on an etherpad or a website? I think the list of academics code might be useful to you. https://github.com/trutzig89182/Mastodon-Sociologists

Please remember that for accounts belonging to individuals, you should obtain consent before adding them. Not everybody wants to be easily found.

@danwchan Thank you, I will make a list on my website and definitely will ask permission for individuals!

@PlantTeaching not sure we can see what you add in the lisT. It appears empty when I click on it. My understanding is that lists are a private ressource

@guillaume @PlantTeaching Drat. I'll make a blog post at planteditors.com with a list of journal accounts so people can follow journals as they like and make their own lists.

@PlantTeaching if you want I am working on a similar article for @botanyone with plant scientists. Maybe we could do one with everything together and cross post it on both site?

Awesome sauce! I was kindly reminded by @danwchan that we should ask permission of individual account holders before including them in a list.

@PlantTeaching ah yes I see your list on the big list of lists. It was an important step in it's early creation that we added opt-in language to there.

I think lists are great for discovery. There is also the classic trunk lists:
