Fanstastic! Setting the server settings made the trick. Now it works as expected using my own and selfhosted ntfy instance. Many thanks Nextcloud!

Thank you. But you did not answer my questions.
Nextcloud Talk and in particular the push notifications will not work properly without Google Services. Neither with manually installed and configured Unified Push services nor with other self-hosted services. It is just not configurable in the app as shown in the screenshot.
Or am i wrong? Please point me and the community to the right and relevant documentation. My concern:
If Google or Mr. Trump would stop Googles Services for us, Nextcloud Talk won't work as expected and no notifications will be sent!
