Here in the U.K. we witnessed a horrific and violent protest outside a hotel housing refugees in Knowsley, Merseyside. Police barely managed to keep the 'protestors' outside the hotel. They were intent on doing harm to people whose only 'crime' was being refugees.

This morning we are still waiting for any kind of statement from Prime Minister Sunak or Home Secretary Braverman.

Perhaps they are still deciding whose side they are on?

After a violent protest by far right groups outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Knowsley, U.K., we are still waiting for any kind of statement from Prime Minister Sunak or Home Secretary Braverman.

Are either of them going to condemn these protestors for attacking the very group they have both spent months attacking?

“The people of Knowsley are not bigots and are welcoming to people escaping from some of the most dangerous places in the world in search of a place of safety. Those demonstrating against refugees at this protest tonight do not represent this community. We are not like that and overwhelmingly behave with sympathy and kindness to others regardless of where they come from.”

“I have sympathy for anyone in our county who is concerned for our services or their own future, but terrorising victims of war and torture is unforgivable. Our politicians’ rhetoric of hate and division is destroying our society and our British values. My greatest concern is whether the police can keep the people in this hotel safe both tonight and in the future.”

Clare Moseley,
