I guess the news is out that I'm now on the advisory board of the UN Human Development Report.

As someone from a family that has experienced extreme poverty, the stakes for the UN Development Programme's work have always felt deeply urgent to me. I was surprised and delighted to be asked, and I hope my involvement can contribute in some small way to the wider work of others toward human flourishing.

Costly U.S. health care system could take lessons from #Portugal | STAT statnews.com/2024/12/10/us-hea… “Central to its success is a network of #PrimaryHealth care clinics embedded in neighborhoods, working alongside regional #publichealth units. Data flow freely between them to track illnesses and unmet health needs, said Gustavo Tato Borges, president of Portugal’s National Association of Public Health Doctors. (1/10)

Adobe now has a tool to get rid of ugly window reflections in photos theverge.com/2024/12/12/243198…
in reply to Eugen Rochko

@Gargron sometimes you can’t take a photo without a window between.

Example : in a plane or behind a protecting glass from dangerous stuff (chemical, electrical, etc.).

AI is bad for creative reasons I agree but when it could be useful and we assume doesn’t steal someone’s work, even though I don’t like it or don’t see it in my workflow, we cannot just ignore it for the sake of disliking or else.

Personally, I think this feature can be very useful in certain cases or circumstances.

in reply to Eugen Rochko

@Gargron ...or use a polariser? I mean, there's a bunch of options without resorting to "AI"-based nonsense that typically doesn't work.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

@Gargron
Honestly this sounds like a great tool to have.
Angles and polarised filters won't help with everything and the average person is just waving their phone anyway.

Not that I would willingly give money to Adobe mind you.
But it's more useful than moving things around in the photo that everyone has.

I would love to be able to listen in my favorite podcast app #AntennaPod but there seems to be a problem. If I search using the build in function in AntennaPod I get a link to
nextcloud.com/feed/mp3/
The newest cast AntennaPod can extract from this, is from 23. October.
Is this a problem in AntennaPod or is it the wrong rss?

Damn, this game is already 7 years old.
I was asking myself why it is getting remastered since I remember it coming out recently but it seems that it has been a while.

I took a spontaneous trip to OKC to hang with a friend & fellow artist. I packed my Holga 135, a Fuji disposable, and too much anxiety about getting film through TSA. lowest key I just want to share: these baby cats. Missy Elliot (first pic) and her loving husband Rico. 🥺 😭 #analogphotography

Isn't she glorious! She has just set up home outside my door. She's a St Andrew's Cross spider. You will notice that she has a unique style of web-making. It looks like she could actually write words. So, I am naming her Charlotte!

She's so elegant !... 😀 A prima ballerina...
in reply to Muse

It's nice to know we have a few non-toxic spiders! And pretty as well!
Those zig-zags she has spun actually reflect ultra-violet light. Perhaps to catch insects who are looking for that colour to find pollen.
