I made myself a new website for my photography. I couldn't get any CMS or website builder to structure the data the way it made sense to me so I made it from scratch. #BelieveInFilm

Those are fine images, Eugen. Thank you for sharing them with us. I think that one sees into the photographer's heart through their images.

there are some great photos on there. I always enjoy the programmer/arts crossovers.

Ilford B&W film makes me so happy.

Also, Fuji Velvia brings back soooo many (expensive) memories. Try it if you haven't. I believe they still make it.

very good job! Simple and elegant. Also, beautiful photos!

Our team, Studio CMS (we're all engineers guided by a photographer) has been building a fedi-friendly CMS for photographers for the past bit, were almost out of alpha and are in desperate need of guinea pigs

Richtig gute Fotos
Film ist eine besondere Leidenschaft, toll das du das noch machst und daran festhältst 👍

I love your photos. Thanks for sharing them. Such a great sense of place and time, mood and color.

I also like your page solution. It seems very practical for various screen layouts. Did you build a UI for authoring too?

I’ve been having a similar problem. I also need an easy way to display text captions accessibly, per photo.

IO200 is a very nice CMS for photographers. Self-hostable with low prerequisites, though not FOSS. 😕 The Need for your own photo place over pixelfed etc. is understandable. Its not enough to present photos in a kind of feed alongside creations of others. Especially if opening your archives it is good to publish the content with the correct date from the past. This CMS is derived from the great Koken which unfortunately disappeared. https://www.io200.com/

very cool photos!

… does the website federate? It could be cool having a portfolio that would publish sneak peeks of new works into fedi…

clean and simple with focus on what is most important on your website - your photos. Like it much🙌

Great job, minimalistic and usable!

I'm putting off building something like this for my sketches and paintings for years now. 🤫

Really really nice, both site and images. Would like the same!

looks super clean! Honestly inspired me a bit to try to get my own photography on a site. Really like how the headers are done

Could you add an RSS feed or Activity pub? :ablobcathappypaws:

@eleventy is a very flexible way to create static websites. Maybe that works for you.

Great work. What tools do you use? How are new albums created?

I'm still hesitant to create one. Basically because I have pretty complex ideas about what such a site should do: interface with Google Photos (my preferred photo management tool), handling all viewports (desktop, mobile) in a modern way, subscription to channels and/or tags, comments, purchase/print functionality, merchandize, etc.

Meanwhile my photography is here: @dvidschmdt (and on Facebook, Instagram and Pixelfed)

I'm torn between congratulating on the work put in or sarcastically asking if it's the 14th or the 15th standard.
