Windows BSoDs were pretty common back then. My favourite one of these stories is that the very first Xbox public demo had a BSoD. Apparently Bill Gates was quite angry at that and said that Xbox must never show a blue screen in a demo ever again. And this is why the Xbox has a green crash screen.
