Just a reminder that if you're a #Spotify customer, you're paying the platform to give anti-vax, conspiracy-theory podcaster Joe Rogan $250M to spread dangerous misinformation.

I switched to Deezer. There are many other choices: Apple, Amazon, Tidal, Qobuz and others. If you are the type to abandon Twitter because of Musk, why pay Spotify to make Joe Rogan wealthy and the world less informed?

I would also highly recommend picking up some CDs from a local library and ripping the contents to WAV or FLAC. Streaming services are kinda scammy anyways

@ch0ccyra1n Everyone has to make their own decisions, I guess. But although musicians complain the streaming services don't pay enough, your advice leaves musicians with no compensation. If you want to own music and do it so that musicians get paid, then buy the CDs. Personally, I'd never borrow CDs from a library and then steal the IP by ripping the CD. (Which is scammier--paying a little for music or paying nothing?)

@ch0ccyra1n
Speaking as an impoverished artist, I still support ch0ccyra1n's suggestion, far above advices to get on abusive mass-surveillance extortion-racket censorship-bubbles, encouragements to not listen to someone because adhominous name-calling reasons, or lap up the "no such thing as bad advertising".

solution space lays elsewhere than the corporation's offering. complied our way out of corporate totalitarianism yet?

thankyou everyone preserving copies of our music and art.
