I've done that install enough times, the script is so much better.

True. I don't really care about whether it is 'fun' or not, but I would never use it. I want to have full control on the installation stage. And because Arch is a rolling release distro, you need to install it only once. Right?

did an install at work. I actually forgot that the script exists. Stuff went wrong. Had to reinstall and forgot again it exists. Then everything worked and I remembered.

not really, I rather úse arch, not ínstall it. Installing is the neccicary evil.

I don't think the installer can create separate partitions for /boot, /home, /var, /usr, /tmp and swap, can it? Sorry, but that's still what I want...

As most of the people just copied and pasted the tutorials, the installer is fine. Maybe some people lost the feeling the use a hacking distro now, but that's also fine.
I would like to get rid of the "Linux-Porn"-Image of Arch Linux in the next step. Arch is my main workstation distro and customers/coworkers often think Arch is just a distro for wallpaper and desktop theme loving kids who watched to many hacking movies.

no one's forcing you to use that script. I don't use it, if you want to use it, it's there. That's it, I don't see the problem.
