I distro hopped for years. I finally settled on Garuda linux in 2020 and I haven't moved on yet. Garuda has been very stable and you can rollback with ease when you make a mistake. Saved me a few times.

Interesting that, after the Steam Deck, the most used is #ArchLinux

Veteran Linux users moved to Arch and that's what they use? They moved to Arch for gaming specifically? Gamers coming from Windows are competent and went straight to Arch? ...

Then the distro-agnostic Flatpak on its way to become the preferred option.

And relegated to a fourth place, with Mint about to surpass it, Ubuntu, the distro once blessed by Valve. That train is gone now.

Finally took some time to bust out the @PINE64 #pinebookpro and have some fun! I'd planned on flashing #nixos onto it, but everything I'd book from the image on my NVMe, I'd go through the whole rebuild and switch but it continued failing to boot into the new build... 🤔

Next best option, fresh install an #archlinux based system with great development record for the PBP, #manjaro , and manage everything with #nix. Turns out option #2 is still pretty awesome! 😎🤘 #linux

It seems we'll have a lot of "fun" with the #PyPi decision to remove signatures for sdist tarballs (https://blog.pypi.org/posts/2023-05-23-removing-pgp/) going forward.

To scream into the void: Yes, PyPi, someone was using those signatures. Distro package maintainers secured user supply chains with it!

I'm not looking forward to asking dozens of upstreams to host their signatures elsewhere (just stumbled across one case). Meanwhile reproducibility is now broken for those packages.
