that is NOT okay. These people need to be sustained, supported and compensated. Don't normalise corporations and commercial interests taking advantage of public property and services without giving back.
Just the fact that an upside-down pyramid like this is doesn't just collapse under its own weight is such a testament to the power of passion and foss. The world does NOT need profit motives and oppression to thrive, we thrive IN SPITE of them
Tributes without compensation is eye-washing. The meme is supposed to trigger conversation about properly compensating the "unpaid devs". In the world of commons, free riders who make profit out of the commons should be penalized or make them contribute financially to the projects they depend on.

Just like an ant, unpaid oss devs can carry 50x their own weight in workload. Also like ants, they're attracted to sweets, so tip an oss dev so they can get themselves a pick me up.
