Every day should be #EarthDay 🌏

The History of Earth as a 24 hr clock via UW-Madison geology. We’ve only just arrived. #science

weird that they use a 24-hour clock but the time notations are using a 12 hour format. They don’t even give the AM/PM on those notes either. Very confusing.

@appsec4one agree. It’s an old graphic no longer on their site, but I still love the perspective of just how recent we are. We’re newcomers on a wildly diverse, ancient planet & act as if it’s ours.

Should have quit at 10:56. Things went completely out of whack after that. 🦎

I'll be staying up for the meteorite bombardment!

I love these types of graphs - it really allows my mind to grasp the enormity of the timeline.

Thank you for this idea -- I now want a clock that, in addition to the 24 hour time, is always displaying one of a rotating series of facts about that point in geologic history. How cool would that be?!!

What? The religious troglodytes say the earth is 6,000 years old!

Why Americans make me laugh!

A 24hr clock and they put fuckin AM and PM on it FFS!!!

so meteorites built it and most likely brought life and water with them, life evolved, and now it’s waiting for a meteorite to destroy it… while they do the job themselves.
The circle of life.

surprising to see humans and dinosaurs as basically the same compared to sex.

They really should have taken a 24 hour setup for the text notes.
Completely confused the way this is displayed ..
