i had a Pentium 4 from 2007 until 2024;

it was unusable on windows;

it made me learn the suckless programs with a 38k interface;

by crafting everything by hand in C i was able to have my own little war machine;

I run Debian on a 13 years old laptop with 4gb of RAM. Everything that isn’t browser based is snappy, and perfectly capable as a daily driver. The modern web is a resource hog but still useable. Only upgrades I’ve done to it are a new battery and moving to a SSD.
