Born in 1848, Caroline Still Anderson completed high school at 15. When she enrolled at Oberlin College, she was the only Black student in her class.

Anderson went on to become a physician, driven to improve the social & political conditions of Black people. She also served as a prominent a social reformer in Philadelphian society.

Correction: Linked article says it was her father William Still who was 2nd only to Tubman:

"William Still, described as being “second only to Harriet Tubman in underground railroad operations”, was an active and prominent abolitionist in Philadelphia who spent nearly all of his adult life as a businessman, author, and philanthropist in the service of African American liberation and advancement"

@sadele2 You’re right. Although I first came across that detail on the AWIS site https://awis.org/historical-women/dr-caroline-still-anderson/ I linked to Temple bc it has more detail. I will edit since this isn’t clear & Temple would likely be more accurate.
