a couple of games i am quite fond of were built with unity.

But my every impression of the game engine is that its a PoS, that is very accessible to indies. Which is a shame.

I have always thought Godot had good potential , and with Godot 4 that potential has only increased. Very passionate and helpful community.

I guess this change might make Godot's (and other engines') community grow. Although learning a new engine might be a deal breaker for some companies, it might not be so for independent game developers or small studios.

I had been wanting to give Unity a try after I wrap up my current side projects but now I think I'd be better off checking out other engines.

the end is killing it. We can't tell you how we evaluate the number of installs, it's proprietary! Trust us! Oracle licensing level shit.

Just checked their forum post and they seem to have updated the answer to the question about reinstalls on https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-plan-pricing-and-packaging-updates.1482750/ barely 30 mins ago
(The "has always been" part seems funny considering it was the opposite a few minutes ago)
