A project I have a very keen eye on is NVK, the open source NVIDIA Vulkan driver developed by the community (not NVIDIA), and it seems like progress on it is going rather well.

This would be pretty lit. Really hope it supports nvenc encoding since I suspect the propiotary one is causing kernel panics for me

Kepler support? Yes please! The lack of dx11 vulkan support from the official "legacy" drivers on my old box with a gtx 770 has been a pain.
