If I have to go offline to do my computing (outside of work), I will do so. Fortunately, I saved all my CDs and DVDs & their players, & not being online will only impact me on sites like this. I'm ready. Sad it has come to this, but I knew this was going to happen when our wonderful gov't decided to allow Google to continue violating the Sherman Anti-Trust Act.
Brave and Vivaldi run on Chrome's engine, they are basically just reskins, so I wouldn't be surprised if eventually they'd ship it too. 🤷♂️ Use alternative browsers.
If WEIis implemented It will probably split internet in two. One AOL like network dominated by megacorp from hardware to software and one free based on open stack. The later will be probably more expensive to access ( less hardware available, and more difficult to access for non tech people)
Honestly they keep doing this. They know these things will all be shot down. I feel like there must be a strategy to this. Perhaps it's the old "daddy can I have a pony" trick?
So unfortunate Brave and Vivaldi don’t support the development of Gecko (from Firefox) instead of putting bandaids on Chromium. They have little influence on Chromium, but would be such great allies with Gecko.
