@Gargron @pbuck My guess is that the salaries in the US are so much higher, because you need to pay a lot of the stuff yourself that's usually covered by the public or by social insurance in most European countries.

That of course does not help you when working remote from the US for companies abroad.

I suggest you take a look at levels.fyi and filter by location for more up to date salary data.

I was interested in the devops position for sure but how would the remote situation work out if I don't live in mainland Europe? I currently reside in the UK working towards citizenship but I am a US citizen first and foremost.

Why do people say DevOps engineer when they mean Software Developer?
