polarization and division are two different notions : a magnet is polarized but not divided…

polarization is unavoidable because of the differences in people's inclinations and knowledge of issues... it's not problematic at all, and in fact it's a healthy part of the democratic process : opposition leads to common ground, lack of opposition leads to extremes and abuses…

division is problematic since it implies that communications are cut, and so common ground cannot be reached…

@patmadigan Exactly! When we start to talk about the oligarchs paying their fair share of taxes, they claim we are waging “Class Warfare”. We have been losing this war for centuries.
