Let me give you an upgraded version of this "forced downloading of Windows updates when you have a bandwidth cap and even when you had turned on metered connection". And now even when its over, I can just read Wikipedia or read books or just do anything that doesn't requires internet. Linux literally saved my bandwidth.

Oh I still remember my plans getting ruined because of it and especially on weekends.

managing macOS updates at scale. Windows is easy street.

Organisations (like banks, EV charging providers) forcing me to install proprietary apps on phones I bought from my own money.

They are also preventing the adoption of alternatives to Android with Google Play Services and iOS.

(since I don't use Windows I haven't actually found Windows updates to be annoying at all 😅)

I have Linux and Windows on separate drives, hasn’t broken yet. Actually impressed how well the two OS’s coexist compared to the bad old days.

yup it is true, even used 2 hard disk or hard drive in 1 laptop with accessories convert slot CD-RW to slot hard disk with install separated. :yikes:

there is not. I have a windows 11 pro license and I not use it because of the automatization in updates. Its impossible to get a full production day thats the windows is not downloading something you are not aware.

if there is no ssd in your hardware, you won´t be able to work as expected. Its common cpu and disk working at 100%. Simply horrible

I've found the trick is to simply never boot into the Windows side. That's how one achieves a nice harmonious dual-boot setup
