The prices are kind of crazy?! If I want to use it in a 4-person family, I have to pay around 900€ per year, right? Definitely not for the masses!

We appreciate everyone's feedback πŸ™ Nextcloud One provides a premium service tailored to the professional market. If you need a budget-friendly option for private use, we have other certified providers, such as hosting.de. Note that many low-cost Nextcloud hosters don't work with us. That means "if something breaks, bad luck", minimal maintenance & late/no security patches. We wouldn't recommend taking that security risk with valuable data.

@lernbuddy Meanwhile Hetzner offers a hosted Nextcloud with 1TB of storage for unlimited amount of users for less than 5€ /month. Shorter backup retention is the only difference I can tell, I doubt there's video previews in this one either.
in reply to Jarno

@oranki @lernbuddy Hetzner is not a certified hosting provider. They do not get the enterprise-level support that certified Nextcloud providers do. If they face critical issues, Hetzner is on their own to resolve them.

Nextcloud One works directly with our support team and developers to resolve issues. Your instance is patched faster, you get better backup retention, firewalls, and 24/7 support. More features are already in the works.

This service focuses on the professional market.

@boz Thanks for your question and for pointing this out. It is 1000 GB for teams. We'll have the team correct the typo πŸ™

@engineer What issues do you have with FAQ page? We checked it in Firefox on Linux and everything seemed to work.
in reply to Nextcloud πŸ“±β˜οΈπŸ’»

Links/drop-downs don't respond to mouse clicks. It's happening on Leap 15.5 (FF v115.10.0 ESR), where it works properly in Vivaldi. I checked with new FF profile, and it's the same. It also doesn't work in Mullvad and Floorp, both based on ESR
But I checked it LibreWolf (FF 124.0.1-1) and it works, so it must be some ESR issue.
On other machine (Kubuntu), it works well in FF (v125.0.2)
in reply to engineer

Same thing on Windows, with ESR version, so it's not OS related @mozilla

@wolfram_roesler @sinus @smartwater @lernbuddy Everything on the internet is a security risk πŸ˜‰ It all depends on your threat profile. Of course, anyone can hire a dozen Nextcloud developers to provide a secure solution, but they won't be cheap. Nextcloud partners benefit from our help with early security patches, extra testing, professional support, bug fixes, etc. You will have to decide if the price outweighs the risk for yourself.

@wolfram_roesler @sinus @smartwater @lernbuddy Anyone can make Nextcloud secure given a particular threat profile, with proper administration and infrastructure considerations.

Of course, it is a bit harder at a business scale than for home users (which we try to make SUPER easy with our all-in-one Docker container). But just like a home user benefits from our help and expertise when they use the Docker AIO, a partner can benefit from our help. That gives you, as a customer, some assurance.
