I've been using Mimestream as my MacOS email client for less than a day and it's already so much better than the increasingly janky Gmail web interface. What's your email setup these days? https://mimestream.com/
I know you have no input to their features, and you’ve been peppered with this already, but maybe the devs will see this thread.
Here’s another FastMail user who would be happy to buy their product. Doesn’t have to be IMAP (which is a mess). FastMail also does the considerably more modern JMAP.
I’m very interested in Mimestream, but I need them to support Fastmail (JMAP) and mobile first…
My current setup is Fastmail in the backend, and for clients, I’m a very basic Spark user. As a light email user, I wouldn’t pay much for Spark, but it’s nice and included in Setapp!
also @mimestream. The main thing stopping me wholeheartedly recommending it is that it is, currently, only for gmail, and the way google are these days I’d hesitate to recommend *that*, but if you are already using gmail, it’s brilliant. Want an iOS/iPadOS version. Also a Linux version…
I love Shortwave! It’s a Gmail client, and while it’s not the absolute pinnacle of how Mac software is supposed to look, it’s got all the features of Google Inbox (RIP), along with an amazing AI assistant. https://shortwave.com
I also use #Mimestream. Use for my work and personal Gmail accounts. Works pretty great. I came from #Airmail on #iOS and #macOS. It’s hands down better than Airmail and I eagerly await for their iOS app to so I can boot Airmail to the curb.

Mail.app mostly works the way I want, but has some annoying bugs that have been around for decades.

I don't believe in paying for an email client.

Fingers crossed. 🙂
BTW, I was pleased that I can follow them on Mastodon, something they offered as part of the installation.

- Mail.app for personal (via Fastmail)
iPhone
- Gmail app (puke) for work Gmail

I wish I had one client (ideally Mimestream) for all of it. 😮💨

Outlook for work (which is actually pretty decent, also nice to have the app separation when I don’t need to be in my work email)
