Folks, I think it's time for me to talk about something I've been holding onto for a while. I work at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands, however I am a contractor so I am not technically allowed to speak on behalf of the agency. So for clarity I am speaking here as myself the individual. Those of you who know me will remember the #astropi project from Tim Peake's mission to the ISS in 2015/16.

Astro Pi was a coding competition which resulted in the participants having their @python code run on the International Space Station. It was made in collaboration between the UK Space Agency, various UK space companies, ESA and @Raspberry_Pi and you can check out the original website on the wayback machine here https://web.archive.org/web/20150317005838/http://astro-pi.org/

After the initial 2015-16 UK competition the challenge was continued by the European Space Agency in collaboration with @Raspberry_Pi and participation was expanded to all member states of ESA. A new edition of the Astro Pi challenge has opened every September since and you can see the current Astro Pi website here https://astro-pi.org/ (be sure to check back in mid September if you want to participate)
