I guess one thing that's useful is learning how to rescue files from a broken windows install or for someone who forgot their password. Basic clonezilla is pretty handy too.

Making people without any technical knowledge think I'm some kind of hacker by running "apt-get update" in a terminal 😏

You mean *because* of using Linux?
I learned many new skills, that are not necessarily related to Linux or computers.
Then again, things do not happen in a vacuum, life is interconnected.
What if I learned how to change a car tire because I had free time due to Linux saving me few minutes that would otherwise be used for troubleshooting proprietary OS issuss? 🤔

I understand how computer works and I can change their behaviour how I like. Nothing makes me frustrated anymore, because I can fix 9/10 problems I've seen during past 5 years.
