these attitudes are such a sickness. when you think, this all (FOSS) has its roots in trying to make something better, only for those who eventually gained enough standing within this new space, to replicate the patterns that held back the old thing?
this ought to rile up way more people than it does.
@odddev @niarbeht harassed me across everywhere he could find me till I banned him from it all, he spent a long time on Reddit giving me grief at every possible moment he could
@odddev @niarbeht sounds like a similar experience i had with cucks when i first got into infosec online as a teenager so i think i can empathise and know how shitty it is.
I don't know what the draw is but wayland and a handful of other projects just have such terrible leadership/devs pushing the main changes, often so stuck on their ideas of what the software should be they'll snap back at any reports of their design causing problems for..you know...actual USE. JoshuaAshton in particular explains extremely well why that solution doesn't work in that thread but he refuses to hear it since it doesn't comply with how HE wants wayland to work....
Sadly I've seen this kind of behavior from devs and it's extremely disappointing. Moreso that this is someone employed at a $60-billion publicly traded company. Sorry you had to go through that.
this is just a bad example I have been to many Linux events such as SCALE20X and Red Hat summit Connect in person and most people from Red Hat are very nice some of the nicest you will meet
