The people on the bird site were aghast that we thought it cool these LED dance poles were powered by Raspberry Pi.

We got in a lot of trouble. It was most unexcellent.

Are Pi-powered poles cool here?

nothing wrong with that, even if there was explicit nudity we have content warnings for that 🤷
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Perfectly fine by me. In fact, I like the idea enough I might even use it in one of my novels.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

You only see what you can see in the pool.

Where are the pi-powered pools?
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

I've only been here a week-ish, but my understanding is that anything you think might be questionable should have a CW (Content Warning). ALT text is also strongly encouraged.
(Off topic, but we have 4 Raspberry Pis. Thank you!)

OMG, those humans have bodies.

My first thought was whether the designers had tested the tube material for bad reactions to any gels, solvents or emulsions they are likely to encounter :blobrainbow:

People do get upset about silly things, don't they?

Welcome to the Fediverse! Your little boards are a source of endless joy for us. 😀
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

My only problem with them is "they look like glass or perspex how on earth can they hold 100lb+ of weight. what voodoo is that?"
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Very cool, post away.

Actual nudity: post, but with a CW.

Suggestive/nearly-nudity: post, *maybe* CW? Perhaps? Depends? I don't think anyone's really gonna get on your case about this level of mild, but I mean it never hurts, often helps, usually increases boosts. Big consent culture here and it only takes a sec.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Amazing.
Most intersing, that you found a material which is strong enough to hold the dancers and is still transparent.

Normal poles are made from metal for a reason. That's why I'm quite impressed.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Are you trying to ingratiate yourselves to us fediverse folks by telling us how much cooler and open-minded we are than the folks on birdsite?

Because if so it's working. Keep it up.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

The important question should be, do the The Pi Hut or Pimoroni stock them yet?

Thats a neat project 😃 Inspired not only for poles but for club lights in general 😊

And i don't see the problem... it is a pole. Lightend. Nothing evil on that 🙃
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

I think it's worth celebrating that a Raspberry Pi has been placed in the pole position!
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Definitely. No idea what's wrong with the people over at birdsite. Have any animation video?
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

They would have found any reason to get angry about it at all. Don't take it personally.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

I'm aghast at pretty lights, aghastt I tell you!

(Those are really cool!)
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

wow! That looks like some amazing tech. It's set design connivin combined with lighting tech

All of the cars and bikes you can buy and earn in Cyberpunk 2077. If you play as a nomad, you have an exclusive mission to get your old car back. The car you drive before going into Night City.

35 cars, 6 bikes.

RGB LED makes anything cool. Pretty sure it would make a dental drill cool.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

I can't imagine that if they weren't Pi-powered they would somehow cease to exist. I quite like a bit of burlesque, so thats totally cool in my books.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Very cool, look great and so does the dancing. I would hurt myself badly trying this, massive kudos to the dancers!
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

To be honest, I don't think that's cool. It reminds me too much of the suffering of the many women who are forced to earn money for their pimps. If I know that I won't get something like that in my timeline here anymore, I'll be happy to follow you again.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

Honestly my biggest concern is how strong is a pole made of glass of plastic. Pole dancing involves a lot of stress on the pole
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

I can't believe it. The official Raspberry Pi account posting pornography? Gross and immoral.
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

In case anyone else is curious what Raspberry Pi consider "aghast", "a lot of trouble", and "unexcellent":

💈 One person called it tacky
💈 One said they do not want to associate pole dancing with an educational product for youth
💈 That's it
in reply to Raspberry Pi :raspberrypi:

The poles are perfectly fine. How you were tone deaf with hiring a cop that specializes in violating privacy, not so much
