Have used Jitsi-meet and BBB. Afair I tried Jami when it was called Tox but didn't get it to work. Also tried Element but it was unusable laggy.

I've used Element as a Matrix instance a bit as a Discord alternative. Not much though. Most of what I use Discord for is people and servers who, sadly, still don't understand the need to switch. 😞 I haven't tested any of the audio/video streaming type stuff, but hopefully someday there will be more integration of such things in places that really shouldn't be relying on a proprietary, closed service.

Experimented with most of them, but was never able to use them for actual conversations because nobody I know IRL uses them or is interested in trying them out.

Element/Matrix is hard to use for average people. Staying with Discord and Slack for now.

The linux meetup i attend uses big blue button, and the devs of jami came presenting once.

I didnt hace a great experience with jami but i was talking with someone on the othervside ofbthe globe.. so i guess p2p is not great for long distance.
