I feel a connection here with #trans people taking endless selfies.
It's an act of self-love in a life until then filled with self-loathing.
I loathed being in photos until I transitioned I hated it and wanted to destroy every image taken by someone. They wanted to appreciate me on their terms, I wanted to die.
Now, I don't doll up and take photos for the appreciation of anyone but myself. I get to appreciate myself on my terms.
I don't think it's vain to take pride in yourself. Our transition is 100% for us and no one else. Even if they always try to make it about them.
