@BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.onliI think the worst issue is them making DRM for the swtich, like the only way I could see it is some always online garbage, even if it detected differences and inaccuracies, emulation devs would sooner or later fix that

yeah but many games keep it after or never end up disabling it. This could also render many day 1 version unplayable at somepoint. Preserving a game earliest state is also part of game preservation

@skymtf Absolutely, but the point is to protect those early sales, it just happens to be easier to not disable it later. By dealt with I didn't mean by the developers
