Loving not hating on your post. Is that really that light weight? Looks like you made something beautiful on something less. Great 👍 job. I'll be watching for more from you.

@Ohyeah1 It really is only 19kb, but it does require a 80kb emulator to run on.

20kb Potato? Never even heard of that OS before. Looking at it on the internet now. I'm probably putting Haiku OS on an old pc today. I'm just amazed 👏 with this desktop look. Wondering about how functional it is. YES I'm going to share your post.
in reply to HATER420

@Ohyeah1 Haiku is a ton of fun 😀 Uxn works on Haiku if you wanna try potato OS on it.

But this OS is designed for people using uxn roms on systems without desktops like a gameboy or nintendo DS.

Didn't know that. But was thinking about trying Mastodon on Haiku OS. If you look at my replies from last night I was talking about it. Just got a Dell Optiplex 740 for free. Love turning junk into something new and better.
in reply to HATER420

@Ohyeah1 that's the spirit ✊ I've used Mastodon on Haiku and it works well. The devtools on Haiku to build apps is excellent, you ought to try it out.
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

Will do❗💯 I also noticed that you said it works on a Gameboy or DS. Does that mean a 2ds maybe? I have one I thought about modding.
in reply to HATER420

@Ohyeah1 uxn works on the 2DS, but the emulator needs to be updated somewhat for Potato to work on it as it makes use of a newish thing.

I'll be looking at your link. But before I try it on a 2ds I'll try it on Haiku OS. Too many projects and no time 😪. sudo wtf
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

That straight from the github? Always cutting and pasting from there. Hate typing in a terminal because I always make typos.
in reply to HATER420

@Ohyeah1 for haiku? You can see on this thread how to do it: https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/uxn-ecosystem-on-haiku/12209

The uxn repo is not on github tho, it's on srht: https://discuss.haiku-os.org/t/uxn-ecosystem-on-haiku/12209

Was thinking that I might only be able to use the 32bit Haiku OS. But they now have a new bata 4 out. I have many PCs and laptops I can put it on. This Dell was a monster at its time. Look XP pro that had to cost money.
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

and I guess for the really interactive stuff, I'd want to make a proper little Uxn ROM of my own, right?
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

Still, this is so fascinating... Making your own little computer!! What a beautiful project.

@ezhik it's a ton of fun. You should try building your own dream machine sometimes, see what you think you'd need to explore the ideas that fascinates you, and try and put it together.
