Refreshing the wood of the old bathroom cabinet that had gotten moldy.

@Benhm3 fiberglass is pretty heavy, and expensive. We'll varnish this thick and it should be enough 😀

It was poorly made before, also it was 40 years old.

Before/after, we insulated the back wall of the bathroom and painted it. It's going to be so much nicer next winter.

one day, new owners of Pino are going to be in a world of wonder uncovering the life that went on, if they weren't already following the boat ❀
in reply to nomand

@nomand we should leave little notes and treasures behind the walls, and at the back of furnitures for if someone ever take it apart again 😀

@chainik @rek So we've tried EPS for the left side of the boat, and XPS for the right side so we could compare the difference.
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

@rek interested to hear how it works out
 insulation is on my list
what did you use to stick it to the wall?
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

Glassed the rails, and tested the windows. We're adding a shelf perfectly size to our huge medkit.

#finishit -ed the bathroom cabinet! You can see the recycled bamboo cutting board turned shelf.

Nicely done! Were you able to reuse old parts of the cabinet or are all the pieces fresh? Also is there a workshop in the marina or did you do all the work on board?
in reply to rostiger

@rostiger we reused as much as we could, and made a couple of new pieces that had rotted away. It was in total a 12$ project.

We did all the work on the docks XD

Nice! Sounds like spring time has finally arrived in Victoria as well then!
in reply to rostiger

@rostiger yes! it has been so nice to be able to walk outside without a coat, at last.

the sliding door guides in this totally look like a modular synth cabinet and now I can't stop thinking about the sailing boat specific modules you'd have to have in there
in reply to s-ol

lots of awesome CV modulation sources:
- GPS long/lat/speed
- Sonar ???
- wind strength / direction
- gyroscope angle, heading

build your own sonification system and learn to sail without sight!
in reply to s-ol

and the forbidden category of boat output modules:
- rudder steering output
- sail winch kinda stuff?

"patch your own autopilot"
in reply to s-ol

@s_ol All that stuff, the wind and water sloshing and the hull speed, we can hear directly. A sailboat is surprisingly loud on its own
