@neauoire @sigrid thanks to you both for uxn on android. Managed to build and install for my Timex watch (android wear). Going to work on making it a daily-use sms/mms/voice device with a uxn UI. 😀 Progress will be slow but I will try to get this done. 😀

I'm here to help if you need it! If speed is important, try bringing in the new uxn.c core, it'll be a tiny bit faster on your android device 😀

Thanks! I do have some experience hacking the UI/input methods and such in termux-app and Java so am hoping it's not "too" bad. 😀

any tips on scaling the UI so it is more readable? My device is 320x360. I guess the android app is rather SDL mostly?

yeah, that makes sense, sadly it broke it... all I get is a gradient black-to-grey on startup, but I'll dig into more another time. Nice start! 😀 (already a home/launcher now) So now my "power/home" button gets me to uxn. 😀 Sadly I only have one other button available: SOS which for now I probably want to avoid. ;)

your screen seems too small, but idk (yet) why either rom sets a bigger resolution or something else happens.

@sigrid@ftrv.se another question for you both maybe, I plan on integrating sms/mms/voice at least... how would I go about adding an "interface" aka varvara device for these things? I know there is a mobile-phone extension to varvara out there somewhere but I forget the link. Ideally I'd like to move toward maybe a @postmarketOS UI which is based on uxn and acts a bit like a feature phone so there the devices in varvara would talk to ModemManager via cli/dbus maybe.

@sigrid@ftrv.se I think if I were you I would try to do as much as I can through the Console device, and add extra ports if that ends up being too restrictive.

@sigrid@ftrv.se that makes some sense, so you have an example of `uxnemu orca.rom | uxnemu piano.rom`. I already have many simple commands in shelli-ui like sms, dial, answer and can "emulate" those in the android app I guess. Use my shelli commands as an API. First step for me will be to make a simple uxn rom that can test out sms/mms/voice and wire in the java/android bits to make those happen.

@sigrid@ftrv.se Yep! At this point I can't get the app to run anymore so off to logcat land and debugging. 😀 Might have some free time in the coming week or two so 🤞
