@cblgh this is kind of similar but.. very unique atmosphere. You sort of have to read it listening to cold wave or anything off aufnahme + wiedergabe to match the vibe.

oh hell yes coldwave soundtrack for this sounds dope, actually heard some live earlier this week in town :~

roadside picnic i liked quite a lot when i read it! been a while since then, but i remember being surprised at how light its tone was compared to all other Stalker depictions i'd come across

looking forward to reading it :~ right now i'm reading Ruthanna Emrys's second book, Deep Roots, a kind of rehabilitation of the lovecraft mythos, check her out when you have a chance. her latest, A Half-Built Garden, i found really interesting and well-written
