What can I say about the complex dynamics of the model studied by my biologist colleague, from the discrete information I have about it?

The biggest question I work on is to see if there's observational evidence that the Universe is spatially finite without boundaries (research field = cosmic topology); and the second biggest question is to design and implement tests to see if dark energy is really just an oversimplification that physically represents the formation of cosmic voids during the epoch of structure formation (research field = inhomogeneous cosmology).
